Neutrophil chemotaxis induced by normal human serum (NHS) preincubated with fractions S1 - S5. The fractions were preincubated with NHS for 60 min at 37 °C. The positive control consisted of 120 μL of NHS with 100 μL of CFD/Gel buffer and 75 μL of zymosan (1 mg/mL), while the negative control was 120 μL of NHS with 100 μL of CFD/Gel buffer. Neutrophil migration was assessed by the leading-front technique, in which at least ten microscopic fields were analyzed per filter at 100× magnification. The columns represent the means ± SEM of one experiment done in triplicate. *** p < 0.001 compared to the negative control
