Venom proteolytic activity. a The proteolytic activity of venom, pretreated or not with EDTA (100 mM), PMSF (2 mM) and PHE (2 mM), was accessed by the hydrolysis of 10 μM of Abz-FRSSR-EDDnp and Abz-RPPGFSPFR-EDDnp FRETs substrates. The percentage of inhibition upon (b) Abz-FRSSR-EDDnp and (c) Abz-RPPGFSPFR-EDDnp substrates was determined. These assays were performed in quadruplicate. Results were expressed as specific activity (UF/min/μg of venom) ± SEM and analyzed statistically using One-Way ANOVA test followed by Tukey HSD post-hoc tests (*p < 0.05)
